Homosexuality

In America, Canada and England there is a growing feeling that since our culture is open to homosexual practice, the church should change our understanding of the Bible and accept it too.

But a much larger number of Christians across the world feel that if God has said something is wrong, he doesn't need to change his mind when culture disagrees with him. This is our position.

We love homosexuals, and we would love them to be like the Lord Jesus Christ. So we bring exactly the same encouragement to them as we bring to heterosexual people - flee immorality!

The only place for sex is between a husband and wife. And it is best for us to keep it that way. Breaking God's laws usually ends up with God's laws breaking us! Disregarding what God says is what non-Christians do.

And it is very loving to point out to people God's best for their lives.

Our conviction has led to difficulties with our Bishop, The Rt Revd John Gladwin. We feel we cannot take Holy Communion with him because that is a meal that signifies unity. And we do not feel united with him because he is Patron of a group called 'Changing Attitude' - which wants to change the attitude of everyone in church so that we say that gay sex is ok.
