Our friends
We are not a lone church with weird views. At the end of June '08, Anglican leaders across the world met together in Jerusalem and produced 'the Jerusalem Declaration' (see our ‘Resources’ page). Our church subscribes to that Declaration.
And following that conference those who have signed that Declaration are banding together under the descriptive heading 'Fellowship (of) Confessing Anglicans' - FCA.
This is not a breakaway group. It is a grouping of friends within the Anglican Communion. Emerging ideas for this group to work together are still in their early days, and it is too early to list them on this website.
Before FCA came into being, there was an umbrella group called 'Anglican Mainstream'. Churches within the Diocese of Chelmsford who who want to stick with the mainstream teaching of the Bible have formed 'Chelmsford Anglican Mainstream' – CAM. We are part of this group too.
We have yet another group of friends in a national organisation called 'REFORM'. REFORM churches have led the way in encouraging churches to put the Bible before culture. We do this not because we like church politics. We do it because we want to win our nation for the Lord Jesus Christ. To do that we need to campaign for our denomination to listen to Christ; not culture.
